Safeguarding Policy
At My Favourite Tutor, the safety and well-being of our students is our primary concern. All our tutors undergo rigorous Enhanced DBS checks and regular safeguarding training.
Our Commitment:
- Maintaining a safe online learning environment.
- Identifying and responding to signs of harm or neglect.
- Ensuring all communication stays within professional platforms.
Full policy documentation is available upon request for enrolled families.
Lesson Cancellation Policy
Consistency is key to learning. However, we understand that emergencies happen.
Policy Details:
- Notice Period: We require at least 24 hours' notice for any lesson cancellation. The student will be offered a make-up slot if available. However, if this is not possible, a 50% payment will be collected.
- Late Cancellations: Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged at the full rate.
- Group Lessons: If a student misses a lesson, they will be expected to make good use of the notes and learning resources provided and complete any learning tasks before the next session.
- Frequency/Standards: If a student misses multiple lessons, is frequently late, fails to turn in homework or fails to meet acceptable standards of behaviour, a discussion will be held with that student and their parent(s). Tutors have the right to refuse to tutor students if acceptable standards are not met.
- Tutor Absence: If a tutor is unable to attend, a make-up lesson will be offered or a full refund for that lesson issued. We provide a timetable/calendar with all planned absences clearly marked and use the 'news' section and email/SMS for any unplanned absences.
Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR.
How We Use Your Data:
- To manage parent and student accounts and to deliver updates and learning materials.
- To provide progress reports to parents/guardians or Local Authorities where required.
- For the purposes of billing parents.
- We use GDPR-compliant tools to store data in an encrypted form (Stripe and Tutorbird) and NEVER sell your data to third parties.

Terms and Conditions
By using the My Favourite Tutor platform and services, you agree to the following terms:
- Service Provision: We provide educational support through pre-recorded and/or live sessions.
- Payment: Fees must be paid in advance of the learning term or session unless prior agreement has been reached.
- Results: Our tutors are very dedicated, skilled and thorough. However, we cannot guarantee that a student will achieve their goals. We can promise that we will do our very best to guide and support the student towards their goals.
- Conduct: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment or abuse of our staff or the misuse of our system. We take a similar view on the unauthorised recording of sessions. We limit contact between students and encourage the use of first names only.
